VtES Storyline: "Battle Lines" Aftermath

Ben Swainbank, the VtES storyline coordinator, has published the aftermath story of the VtES storyline event "Battle Lines", that took place from April to July 2010.

The ranking for the bloodlines look like this (Name -- #Wins -- (#Bahari/#Loyalists):
  • Kiasyd -- 15 wins -- (10 Bahari/5 Loyalist)
  • Baali -- 14 -- (14/0)
  • Salubri -- 8 -- (3/5)
  • Ahrimanes -- 7 -- (4/3)
  • Salubri Antitribu -- 6 -- (3/2)
  • Daughters of Cacophony -- 5 -- (4/2)
  • Gargoyles -- 4 -- (2/2)
  • True Brujah -- 4 -- (1/3)
  • Nagaraja -- 3 -- (2/1)
  • Blood Brothers -- 2 -- (1/1)
  • Samedi -- 2 -- (0/2)
The Kiasyd won the storyline event, but only by the smallest margin possible against the Baali. The Baali pledged their allegiance unanimously to the Bahari faction, but given the advantages provided by Lilith's Blessing this is no real surprise. Only in three of the bloodlines the Loyalist faction was stronger (the Salubri, the Samedi, and the True Brujah).

Regarding the key minions, the Kiasyd showing was not as scattered as the nominations for the Baali, so The Arcadian was the winner in this category:
The winning bloodlines pledged their allegiance with a significant margin to the Bahari faction:
  1. Bahari -- allegiance of 44 winning clans
  2. Loyalists -- allegiance of 26 winning clans

VtES Storyline "Battle Lines": Current Standings

The VtES Storyline event "Battle Lines" is about to end in two weeks (on June 30th, 2010), so I have I compiled some statistics how the different bloodlines clans are ranked, and how the Loyalist vs. Bahari faction standings is right now. You can find the raw data on the Battle Lines Storyline Standings web page.

Right: The Baali are clearly leading with 10 wins over the Kiasyd with the 7 sevens wins. The 3rd place is shared by the Daughters and the Salubri with 4 wins each. Almost all of the Bloodlines clans managed to get at least one win in the storyline events with the exception of the Harbingers of Skulls and the Samedi. But the most astonishing thing is that the Nagaraja managed to claim victory 3 times, although they don't have yet a single entry (as a clan) in Lasombra's Tournament Winning Deck archive (TWDA).

Left: The Bahari faction is clearly leading with 24 to 13 wins against the Loyalists. The Baali alone account for 10 wins of the 24 Bahari victories.

For the Kiasyd (as current runner-up) matters are a little more complicated. Of their 7 victories 4 can be attributed to the Bahari faction, and 3 to the Loyalist faction.

VtES Storyline Announcement: "Battle Lines"

The elders of the bloodline clans are faced with a terrible choice.

Are they being offered a gift? Or being taken down a darker path? Do they heed the warnings of the mysterious Bahari and join the followers of Lilith? Or do they reject the Dark Mother and her infernal servants?

The bloodlines must choose which side they are on. The Battle Lines are drawn.

Storyline Event "Battle Lines" Announcement

An announcement for the next VtES Storyline Event named "Battle Lines" (in spring 2010) can be found on the VtES Storyline website. It says:
It has long been foretold that when the Antediluvians rise their descendants will be recalled to meet their founders. On that day the children of the ancients will be consumed, driven mad, or destroyed. But what of those vampires who through tricks of time or manipulations of the blood have no single Antediluvian they call their progenitor? What of the bloodlines?

Emissaries of the Bahari have approached the bloodline elders. They bring dark warnings and a message of hope. The bloodlines have a chance to survive the coming cataclysm. But they must renounce the father of their kind and swear allegiance to Lilith, the Dark Mother. They are faced with a terrible choice. Do they heed the warnings and join the servants of Lilith? Or do they remain true to all they have known and remain loyal to Caine? Faced with these choices debate, subversion, and civil war breaks out among and between the bloodline clans. They must choose which side they are on. The Battle Lines are drawn.

Remark: The Lilins (or "Bahari" as they call themselves) are dozens of small, disparate cults that worship their Dark Mother, Lilith. The book "Revelations of the Dark Mother" discusses the Bahari at length.
