Deck of the Month: January 2008: Cats & Dogs
This tournament winning deck played by Miguel del Valle and posted in the Usenet Newsgroup, raised a lot of questions about how it really works works. At first glance it is obviously a rush deck with both the "Tupdogs" and the "Rockcats". But in fact the "Tupdogs"are in the deck only to serve a cheap blockers and more importantly as recruiters for the "Rockcats". On the other hand the deck is astonishingly a vote deck as well with the "Autarkis Persecution" as its main pool gain engine. For the decks success it is imperative that it attacks vampires with votes and puts them into torpor, even early in the game, even cross table. There are number of nifty tricks in the deck as well like the "Mark of the Damned" which is very good to either hurt your predator or in the 1-on-1 game (where your predator is your prey), since all the "Tupdogs" in your ash heap mean easily 5 to 10 pool damage.
