Tournament Name: Swedish European Qualifier 2008
Location: Gothcon, Gothenburg
Date: 22nd March 2008
Number of Players: 41
Winner: Johannes Walch
Deck Name : AAAAA (Quintuple A)
Author : Johannes Walch <- Florian Prosper <- Matt Morgan Description : Anson, Alexandra, Anneke, Aching Beauty and Ambulance I got the original idea from Matt Morgan (called Love Doctor), Florian "Blondin" Prosper did some heavy tweaking to it once I sent him the list. So mad props go out to these two (really awesome) players. I made some final adjustments on the morning before the tournament (normal) and it worked pretty well, having 2GW 7.5VP in the prelims and 1.5VP in the finals. Deck of the Month: March 2008: Quintuple A
This month's deck is the tournament winning deck played by Johannes Walch. The deck takes the already well-known Triple-A deck a step further by making a fusion of the classic Anson deck with an Toreador Grand Ball deck and a Triple AAA deck. Furthermore it adds "Ambulance" from the "Lords of the Night" expansion. Powerful as it might seem it is not so easy to play, good combo play and waiting for the right occassion is essentially for winning with this deck. "Parity Shift" and "Minion Tap" are used for pool gain, while "Aching Beauty" together with "Ambulance" and "Change of Target" punish blockers heavily.
