.. you can recruit a Rom Gypsy and use their special ability, that is tap to give a Ravnos +1 stealth for the current action, in that same turn? That is, although the Rom Gypsy is moved (face up) to the uncontrolled region as reminder that he cannot act that turn, you can still use the special effect of that ally, in this case tapping for giving a Ravnos stealth.

This, of course, applies to other allies' special abilities, too, for example the Vagabond Mystic.
