Deck of the Month: March 2011: Para Bailar la Bamba

This month's race for the Deck of the Month was between three different Assamite decks. The Black Hand Assamite Bleed deck by Izaak Havelaar, the Assamite Bleed deck with Thucimia as superstar) by Csaba Greguss and finally the Assamite Laibon Vote deck by Riccardo Fabiani.

Although all three decks deserve being honored for their tech, I like the third one the best. As remark, it's interesting to note that although all three deck are based on group 4/5 Assamite the number of overlapping vampires is quite small (only Alu and Kamau Jafari are in two of the crypts).

So this month's deck is the tournament winning deck "Para Bailar la Bamba" played by Riccardo Fabiani. The basis is the well-known Assamite vote deck based on the Amaravati and Alamut combo for gaining vote majority. But instead of using Web of Knives Recruit or a number of small cap Assamite, this deck uses Olugbenga to put a large number of Bamba into plays. As the author in the deck description notes, the deck uses both Consanguineous Boon and Haquim's Law to bloat, and ousts using either votes (like Reckless Agitation) or swarm bleeds his prey when playing Khabar: Community and/or Veil the Legions.

Deck Name: Ita Qualifier Tour 2011 Genoa: Para Bailar la Bamba
Author: Riccardo Fabiani
Description:Ita Qualifier Tour 2011 - 2nd stage, Genova
February 27th, 2011
2R+F
35 players

A breed and vote deck with Bamba and Amaravati, taking advantage of a good Laibon spread into the Assamite clan. The main idea is to breed enough Bambas, bleed occasionally to charge Alamut, bloat with Haquim's Law and Boon, then go for the killing with Khabar: Community and Veil the Leigion for bleed and big votes like Reckless.

All three decks deserve to be on this list. It´s amazing that last year only one assamite deck managed to be on TWDA !!!
