Memorable Quotes (Part 142)

After having quoted polish chess grandmaster Savielly Tartakower last week, I found some more of his chess aphorisms:
  • "Tactics is knowing what to do when there is something to do, strategy is knowing what to do when there is nothing to do.
  • "The winner of the game is the player who makes the second-to-last mistake."
  • "It's always better to sacrifice your opponent's men."
  • "It is not enough to be a good player; you must also play well."
