What? Who is this person? And what is it to boast about "killing" a good game?

Aha, judging by his Linkedin-profile he was at WotC when they handed over VTES to WW, and at WW (CCP) when they put VTES to sleep last year. Very dubious distinctions indeed.

Yes, noticed that from his LinkedIn profile as well and also according to his profile he then left CCP to become an independent contractor, so I can't help thinking that I wish he'd left a bit earlier to be honest...

@ Simidh: That is a VERY polite formulation of what most disappointed players think ;o).

From an interview on Gamasutra.:
Gamsutra: "Can you fill me in on the status of White Wolf, the physical game company CCP acquired in Atlanta?"

Ryan S. Dancey: "It's just an imprint... White Wolf used to have a fairly large staff. It doesn't anymore. It's focusing primarily on the World of Darkness RPG products. It's not doing some of the things it used to do; board games and other card games and things. The focus of the company [CCP] is on making MMOs and our legacy table top business is a legacy business."
